[TACRAO] Listserv Double Majors/ Dual Degrees

Hi Hannah,

We require the student to meet residency above and beyond the hours required for the first degree. Example: A student completes the English, BA which is a degree requiring 120 total hours, the student must complete 32 hours above the 120 for the second degree in residence along with any additional course requirements.

When the student is pursuing the dual degrees simultaneously, we consider the degree with the lesser required hours to be the baseline to determine how many hours total will be required for the 2nd degree.

I hope that answers your question. Have a great day!

Subject: [TACRAO] Listserv Double Majors/ Dual Degrees

Good morning,

I was hoping to get some feedback on how other schools award and report double majors and dual degrees.

1. Do you require students to have 30 hours between double majors or dual degrees as an institutional policy(150 hours)? Only on one? Both?

2. If a student does not have 30 hours between the two degrees, how do you report them on the CBM9?

3. Do you give the student two diplomas?

Thank you all!
