Good Morning TACRAO,
It is with a mixture of great joy and sadness that I announce the pending retirement of Pam "Miss Kitty" Davis from the Kilgore College Office of Admissions and Registrar.  Of course we celebrate her career and will miss her tremendously, but I cannot get over how this Cheshire cat has not stopped smiling since making her announcement.  Our goal is to fill her position as quickly as possible so grinnin' Pam can assist the training.

Assistant Registrar  (Professional Staff)

Description:

Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas. With approximately 5,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning. The registrar's office is a multi-function, fast-paced office with its primary role being to serve the students and faculty. This office houses all student records and is responsible for activities such as admission application processing, registration, transcript processing, and graduation.

Responsibilities:

This is a twelve-month, audit and security sensitive position that reports directly to the Registrar while working closely with all other staff members. The Assistant Registrar has primary responsibility for transfer transcript evaluations; AP/CLEP/IB and Credit by Exam evaluation, coordinating the preparation and entering of class schedules; processing graduation applications and Reverse Transfer initiative; certifying graduation; and assisting with the planning of commencement ceremonies. Other duties include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting student record problems; providing assistance to faculty, staff and students who have registration/records questions; and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree and two years of professional office experience to include hands-on experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) are required. Familiarity with the Jenzabar EX student information system preferred. The applicant must be punctual and present a professional appearance and attitude; be able to work well with the public; be able to work efficiently and effectively under a variety of deadlines; and be a cooperative and productive member of a hardworking registrar's office team. Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are necessary.

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $34,011 to $36,137, depending upon education and experience. Health, life, and income protection insurance are provided. An excellent retirement program and generous paid leave time are also furnished. In addition, employees have free use of the college's recreational/fitness facilities and tuition scholarships are available for the employee and dependent children. Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws.
