[TACRAO] Listserv Dual Credit Questions (Apply Texas Application)

Good morning,

Some institutions have students use the Apply Texas freshman or 2-year application to apply for admission to dual credit or concurrent enrollment courses. Apply Texas offers institutions an opportunity to activate a question designed to identify students who are applying for dual credit courses or for concurrent enrollment.

The question reads, "Are you completing this application to apply for dual credit classes or concurrent enrollment at this institution while still in high school?"

While many institutions have opted to add the question to their applications, there are others who offer the programs but do not use the question and we'd like to find out why.
If your institution offers dual credit or concurrent enrollment programs but is not using the question:

1. Were you aware that there was an option to add the question to your application?

2. Being aware of the question, is there a reason that you decided not to use it?

3. Would you be willing to add the question to your application?
Your input is invaluable in helping us determine the best way to differentiate true freshman applicants from those who are taking college level coursework while still attending high school.

We would appreciate your response to the questions above. Please send your responses to mcarroll at nctc.edu<mailto:mcarroll at nctc.edu> no later than Monday, March 28, 2016. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Melinda Carroll
