Our suspension appeals are decided by a committee of faculty. The academic deans are not involved.

Ok, so I'm publically showing my ignorance here (and what the heck...we might as well ALL learn from my ignorance)

WHY does this matter? I mean if you send in the CBM reports saying that you had 100 people as a Business Major, then you change someone's major after the CBM is certified...they will be reflected with the new major on the next term's CBM right?

I'm just trying to understand the reasoning behind the "CBM" as the reason.

I'm struggling with the academic suspension thing. The Deans of the college of the student's major at TSU have 100% of the authority to say if someone is allowed to come back while they are under suspension. So if we have a deadline (which we do not right now) and say, we will change your major for NEXT term, but not this one after X date...if they are suspended, the "old" major's dean gets the notification...but they don't care anymore since the student isn't "theirs" anymore...did that make sense?
Do you guys have this issue?
Thanks!
Susan

We have a deadline of census day for changing a major. I will allow it to be changed only if I have not certified the CBM reports and can have the change reflected in the reports.

Do you have a deadline for when you allow students to change their major the current term?

Example, it's the fall term, and someone wants to change from Business to Agriculture. Do you let them do this at ANY time in the fall term? Or do you cut it off and change it for upcoming term instead?

If you do have a cut off date, why? What is the reasoning behind it? Financial aid? Suspension reports, VA, other, etc.
Thanks
Susan
