provides assistance to persons with mental illness to make application for
various benefit programs, to include Social Security, Supplemental Income,
and Medicaid. Responsibilities include performing assessment of client
financial status; educating clientele about benefit programs; providing
assistance to complete written applications; tracking/monitoring the
application process through court hearings; representing clientele in court;
transportation services; documentation of services and progress; and report
writing. Also provides Supported Employment services to assist clientele
with obtaining and maintaining gainful employment in the community. Position
also serves as the back-up crisis worker during office hours, as well as on
after-hours crisis services rotation. Extensive travel within the
four-county service area is required. <b>Minimum Qualifications:</b>
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a
major in counseling, social work, or psychology, or other qualified human
services field. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable
driving record, as well as personal automobile liability insurance as
required by the state of Texas. <b>Preferred Qualifications:</b> One year of
related work experience in a mental health setting; working computer skills
including MS Word; bilingual skills (English/Spanish); and knowledge of
Social Security and Medicaid programs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
