Head Start Family Advocate

Position Purpose
Provide a variety of parent involvement opportunities including parent meetings, parent trainings, parent volunteer opportunities and home visits.  Build on parent and family strengths and support families in setting goals and working toward family goals. Establish positive, ongoing, and goal-oriented relationships with families in order to promote family engagement.

Essential Job Functions
*       Responsible for Case management of families
*       Coordinate parent involvement opportunities
*       Promote leadership skills and abilities of parents
*
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*       Must be able to carry out written and oral instructions
*       Have the ability to maintain accurate records both manually and electronically
*       Develop good rapport with parents, community leaders and fellow workers
*       Link families to community providers
*       Support families to develop skills needed to achieve their goals
*       Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
*
Qualifications
*       Bachelor's degree in Social work or closely related field
*       Bilingual preferred
*
Employment Date:
*       Begin August 8, 2019
*       204 days of employment
*
 Salary:
Based on experience
Minimum $37,500/year
