Subject: SOAR VISTA Project
My name is Peter Grein, and this year I am serving with the Texas Homeless Network (THN) as an AmeriCorps VISTA member. Currently, I am conducting community outreach for a new Tyler-based VISTA project.
My agency is looking for qualified candidates interested in assisting local individuals experiencing homelessness by implementing a new program called SOAR. The VISTA member will be responsible for coordinating volunteer trainings, organizing workgroup sessions, and leading project outreach efforts.
We were wondering if you could spread the word to recent graduates and current students involved with the school of Social Work about this project. THN believes that this is a great opportunity for individuals interested in social work and/or homeless services. Any help you could provide would be immensely helpful.
We are reviewing applications through September, 15th, and the project will begin in early November. To view the official job description and posting, please click here<https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/viewListing.do?id=60803&fromSearch=true>.
If you become aware of any individuals who are interested in the position, please refer them to the AmeriCorps.gov website and/or have them contact me (peter at thn.org<mailto:peter at thn.org>) directly for more information.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Best, Peter
