A World for Children, a non-profit Child Placing Agency, is providing a
excellent conference, October 23-24, 2009 called Launching Dreams.  Last
year, as we reviewed our statistics for placement of children in the
North Texas area, we discovered that we were unable to place over 2,800
youth from the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  As an agency, we feel that this
number is too high and we need to do better.  In order to improve our
ability to serve children in care who need our services, we need to
start from the inside.  We are bringing this conference to the DFW area
to provide quailty training to our community from nationally known
speakers on the topics that will truly help our professionals and foster
parents better meet the needs of the youth, resulting in positive
outcomes.  Launching Dreams is open to all professionals who serve
children or youth, educators, and foster parents.  We have arranged at
two of our state wide conferences Audrey Deckinga from CPS and Anne
Heiligenstein with Health and Human Services to speak on the exciting
direction of our state in terms of Child Welfare.  We would love to have
Texas A&M Commerce represented at this conference.  

I have attached information about our conference to this email.  We
would be very appreciative if you would share this information with any
person that may be interested in attending.  The two day conference
includes 14 hours of CEU's for Licensed SW's and LPC's or training hours
for non-professionals, formal luncheon, and 3 hours of Ethics training
with Dancing Moose Productions.  Thank you for your time.
