<span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">Walk a Mile in Her Shoes<span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black"> is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community about the
serious causes, effects, and remediations to men’s sexualized violence against women. This event is a day to draw attention to the fact that one in six American women are victims of sexual assault. The Denim Day campaign was originally triggered by
a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. This rape prevention education
campaign asks community members to make a social statement with their fashion by wearing jeans on this day as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual assault.
