The National Association of Colored Women's Club is hosting, "Running for a Cure", on April 6th. They are looking for students to volunteer at the event. Please see the letter below for more information about the event. If you have any questions please contact lopw.nacwc at gmail.com<mailto:lopw.nacwc at gmail.com>.

Dear To Whom It Concern,
The National Association of the Colored Women's Club will be hosting our first annual Running for a Cure fundraiser. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for those who unfortunately suffer from the illness that is known as leukemia. Our cause hit home for our organization in the summer of 2018, when our advisor and her family took a major loss in the passing of her son from the sickness. A few months following, the passing of fellow NACWC sister faced the same loss to a dear immediate family member. Once we approached the conclusion that this subject hit close to home, we sensed the immediate need to take action.
We desire to pay respect to those who are no longer with us, as well as becoming a support system to the ones who are still fighting the battle today. Although, we are specially targeting leukemia we will not disregard those who are fighting the battle of cancer itself. All proceeds will go towards a cancer research center of our choice.
You are receiving this letter because we believe it takes a village to result in greater outcomes. If we can reach out to all forms of campus life to participate and donate to this cause, it will not only benefit the lives of others but also bring together the TAMU-C family for a greater cause that affects families all over. NACWC is extending an invitation to your organization/department to take action and join us in our mission. Whether your contribution is running, donating, or hosting an informational table for the event, we welcome all sources of involvement.
Our financial goal is to raise $4,000. The cost for the event will be $25 a person and $75 for groups of 5 with an additional $10 per added person.
If your organization, or department, is interested in participating in a matter that affects our entire campus, we can be contacted at our official email lopw.nacwc at gmail.com<mailto:lopw.nacwc at gmail.com>. You may also contact this email if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
National Association of Colored Women Club
