Subject: Farming Heritage Day at the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site

Hello,

I'm contacting you today to let you know about Farming Heritage Day at the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site.  This fun, free and annual event is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10am to 3pm.

We are asking for your help in recruiting volunteers to assist with Farming Heritage Day this year.  We expect up to 300 people at the event and we will need assistance from volunteers to make the event a success.  We will have a variety of hands-on activity learning stations that visitors can work at to make their own butter, ice cream, weave a craft, create a cornhusk doll, plant seeds, pick cotton, etc.  We will also have livestock displays, vintage tractors and equipment, refreshments, games and tours of the historic house.

Please add Farming Heritage Day to your 2016 calendar and pass along this volunteer opportunity to the students of Texas A&M University-Commerce.  The event is a fun way for the students to add volunteer hours to their resumes.
