Seeking Volunteers for "The Big Event"

The Commerce Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a big trash/yard waste pickup day to brighten up our little city. They are asking for student volunteers to help out! This would be a great way to earn some community service hours as we near the end of the semester. The event details are below and there is an event flyer attached to this message.

On Saturday, April 11th, volunteers are being asked to meet at the Farmer's Market lot off Main St. A couple of large dumpsters are going to be dropped there and teams will be sent out in pickup trucks with trailers on assigned routes through Commerce. The volunteers will be collecting bagged trash and yard waste to be placed in the dumpsters. The city will also have a couple garbage trucks running routes on that day too.

The Chamber of Commerce is looking for student volunteers that would meet at the site, then ride in the pickups to help collect the bagged trash and yard waste. Mr. Voss is arranging for some folks in the community to volunteer themselves as drivers, but they need helpers to load the vehicles. Volunteers are expected to meet at the Farmer's Market lot at 8:00 AM and work till about 3:00 PM (or earlier if everything goes more quickly than expected). Volunteers will be supplied with orange safety vests and lunch is provided.
