Greetings Student/Greek Organizations,

 

Commerce Parks Foundation which is a Non-Profit (501 c3) Organization
working toward building a skatepark here in Commerce is hosting an event
Nov. 3, 2012 9:00am to 5:00pm at the city park in conjunction with the
Commerce Auto Group (Randall Noe/Ford). The event is "Drive4urcommunity"
and needs volunteers to help with the event and also test drive a car
and Ford will donate $20 for every driver that does so, and Commerce
Parks Foundation can sign-off on community service hours. In addition,
the organization who has the most members over ten show and test drive
will receive a "brick" (Brick Donor Program) with their organization's
name on it that will be included in the skatepark infrastructure once
its built. Please let me know what you think, we're hoping to get 300
drivers to test drive and receive the full $6,000 that Ford is offering
through this program.

 

The Commerce Parks Foundation (Board Members, Members, and Volunteers)
for the last two years has worked effortlessly to raise funds and bring
awareness about the "Skatepark Project," and the need as well as the
benefit of a skatepark in Commerce, Tx. Support (Sponsorship/Donor/Event
Host) from your organization is welcome and would be dearly appreciated
and funds will be used toward the construction of the skatepark; also
members do not receive a salary for their work, its all about the kids

Citizens of Commerce, UNITE! Please help support this project in any way
you are willing. We have begun the process of procuring an approx. 8,000
sq. ft. street plaza style skatepark for our community, we NEED your
support!!

Mission

To raise funds and support that will enable our group, along with the
City of Commerce Parks and Rec. Dept., to install an approx. 8,000 sq.
foot street style plaza skate park, that will incorporate elements that
will be suitable for skateboarders, in-line skaters, roller skaters,
scooters, and BMX bikers or all skill levels. 

Description

The Commerce Skatepark Project is an effort of an organized group of
local citizens committed to building a quality Skatepark in Commerce.
The proposed facility will be located at an appropriate site at
Centennial Park. It will be a multi-use facility improvement to
Centennial Park that will provide a wholesome gathering place for our
youth and be a great benefit to our Community as a whole. If you are

General Information

The Commerce Skatepark Project Committee, under the nonprofit
organization-Commerce Parks Foundation, is committed to building a
quality skatepark within the grounds of Centennial Park, Commerce, TX.
The City Council of Commerce passed Resolution 10 at their Dec. 23rd,
2010 meeting, granting their support of this group moving forward with
this project to build a skatepark on the grounds of Centennial Park,
with the commitment made by the City to match the first $5,000. raised.
