[Stuorg-rep] A Few Reminders

Greetings Student Organizations! 

 

I hope you all are having a great start to the month of November! I
wanted to disseminate a few pieces of information to you!

1.       As your organization prepares to have meetings within the SRSC,
please be sure that your group does not bring any outside food into the
building for your organizational events. We are experiencing a number of
student groups that are violating this policy. We are contracted by
Sodexo to do any food services through them. For a refresher, here  is a
link to their catering guide:
http://www.tamu-commercedining.com/catering/index.html which also gives
you the individuals to contact to set up catering for your event! If you
are considering food for you any of your events, please double and
triple check with Sodexo to make sure you are not in violation of this
policy. Remember, if you aren't sure it does not hurt to ask! J

 

2.       SOAC (Student Organization Allocation Committee) Funding is
available for organizations to apply for. This application can be found
on OrgSync as well as hard copies can be found in the Student Activities
& Leadership office on the 2nd floor do the SRSC. Please note the two
different types of allocations available to your organization: 

a.       Funds are available for student organizations for the benefit
of the individual organization for the purpose of recruitment,
publicity, etc. Funds requested for this purpose may not exceed $200.00
per student organization. 

b.       Funds allocated are restricted to campus or community
activities that stand to benefit, entertain, develop, or educate the
student body. Funds requested for this purpose may not exceed $1,500.00
per request of student organization.
