Dear Student Organization Leader,

 

I am so excited about the upcoming event that will occur on Sunday
November 9, 2008 at First United Methodist Church- Commerce during the
11:00am worship service.  This particular day during morning worship is
designated as Student Sunday.  We are inviting all student organizations
and their members to attend this special day with us.  I believe it is
our calling as a Church is to support students as they prepare for life
in uniting faith with knowledge.  I feel this worship experience will
enable us to fulfill this call.

 

I am personally extending a special invitation for you and your members
to worship together before the end of the semester, or for some the end
of college careers.  Since November 9 is designated as Student Sunday,
this will be a service designed with students in mind.  Through this
planning process, we have taken into consideration all of the hindrances
that may sway your decision to join us. 

Here are a few of the planning details that have been addressed:  

*         Location/Transportation: Our building is directly across the
street from the University (in front of Gee Lake).  If transportation is
needed, we will be more than happy to provide.  

*         Clothing:  Come as you are!  Don't worry about the right
"church" outfit.  We have asked the congregation to dress in
"relational" clothing (jeans or casual wear).  

*         Worship Service:  A Contemporary worship experience. The New
Beginnings Multicultural Gospel Choir and other students will be
participating throughout the service.  I will be preaching the message
"Can I Get a Witness?"

*         Free Food:  There will be a free meal provided at the
conclusion of service.  

 

We have carefully thought of students through this planning process, and
it would be our honor if you and your organization's members would be in
attendance.

 

Again, I cannot fully express my excitement to you about Student Sunday
on November 9 at First United Methodist Church- Commerce during the
11:00am worship service.  Please mark this special event on your program
calendars and disseminate to members.  I ask that you would be present
to worship and fellowship with other students from all aspects of campus
life.  

 

If there are any questions that you may have or if special
accommodations are needed, please to not hesitate to contact me.  I will
see you on Sunday November 9 at 11:00am.
