<p class="MsoNormal">My name is Sawyer Magnus and I am the University Archivist on campus. Recently, we have noticed that we have not been able to document the history of our student organizations as well as we would like. As a result, I am reaching out to
the advisors of our student organizations, seeking any materials that you may have that tell the story of the organization you sponsor.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Student organizations have an immense influence on the character and culture of our university, and we in the archives see it as very important to keep and preserve items that chronicle the actions, events, beliefs, and other important
characteristics of the students who take part. What we are proposing are two different items:<o:p></o:p></p>

</span></span><![endif]>Take note of any previous historic items that you may have and are not currently being used by the students. This may include meeting minutes, event flyers, photographs or scrapbooks, videos, audio recordings, web-based and social media,
and other documents. If you have any of these types of items, please contact us to see if we would like to accept them for permanent storage here. We would organize them and make them available for future research.

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><![if !supportLists]><span style="mso-list:Ignore">2.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"">
</span></span><![endif]>Work with the officers of the student group to document their activities this year by recording meeting minutes, taking photos, saving event flyers and advertisements, and chronicling the organization’s history in general. This may
be done by recommending that an officer of the group collect items throughout the year or creating a new position for this purpose. Doing this will allow us to collect these items in the future and add to the organization’s collection.

<p class="MsoNormal">We hope to have good participation in this venture among a variety of our student groups. I am also more than happy to meet with you personally to talk about what we hope to do and the process of doing it.
