Greetings Student Organization Leaders,

Congratulations on making it through the first month of classes! Thank
you to everyone who attended the student organization training on
policies and procedures in early September. This year, we were able to
combine the state mandated risk management training during our policies
and procedures training rather than having a separate mandatory training
for this. We will be doing a poll in the near future through ManeSync to
see if this is preferred.

This year, Rick Barnes did the Risk Management training and during his
session, there was a statement that was inaccurate that we would like to
clarify. The statement made indicated that there was some differences
regarding how sexual assault was perceived by the law regarding
intoxicated victims. In correction, we have found that as the "law does
not differentiate between a male and female when it comes to sexual
assault if/when the victim is intoxicated". In both cases, it would be
considered sexual assault. We wanted to address this issue and
acknowledge the most accurate information to each of our organizations
as this subject matter should not be taken lightly.

Should you have any additional questions in regards to this matter,
please feel free to email me and we can discuss this further.

Thank you all for the hard work that you put into making your
organizations successful on campus! We are looking forward to a great
year!

Deepti
