[Stuorg-adv] Student Organization: Federal Tax Identification number

Hi Student Organization Leaders!!!

Hope you are having a wonderful semester. As a part of improving our
quality of service that we offer you, we would like all organizations to
submit their Tax-exempt number and also a digital copy of the
organization's tax exempt IRS form to us. This would help us in the SOAC
funding process and your transactions with the Pride Shop easier.

Please click this link( https://orgsync.com/24085/forms/show/40991 ) and
fill your organization name, your federal tax identification number
(also called Employer ID number) and upload the digital copy of the
original tax-exempt IRS form of your organization. Please make sure that
you would do it before Friday, December 9th, 2011. If you do not have
this on file, please email me to see if we have your organizations on
file. 

For those organizations that do not have a tax exempt ID number, please
follow the steps given below.

Below you will find a link and instructions on how to secure an Employer
ID number (EIN).  It only takes about 15 minutes to do this online, and
you can print off the confirmation at the end (instead of having them
mail you a copy).

Instructions for EIN:

You can get one in a matter of minutes by using the State's online
system.  

*       Follow this link:

*       Go the bottom of the page where you'll see a link to "APPLY
ONLINE NOW".  Click on that link, then click on button "Begin
Application>>" 

*       Select "View Additional Types, Including Tax-Exempt and
Governmental Organizations", then "Continue>>" 

*       Select "Other Non-Profit/Tax-Exempt Organizations", then
"Continue>>", 

*       On the next page, click on "Continue>>", 

*       On the next page, select "Banking Purposes", then "Continue>>", 

*       Select "Individual", then "Continue>>".  

*       As the President (this could also be the Advisor) for this
group, you need to provide your legal name and SSN, then under Choose
One, select "I am a responsible and duly authorized member or officer
having knowledge of this organization's affairs, then "Continue>>".  

*       Fill in the student organization's EXACT name, it is an
"Educational" non-profit organization (reason for tax number), mailing
address for the group, etc, then read over for accuracy and submit.  

*       Your EIN is generated and provided for you.  If you tell the
system that you want an online confirmation that you can print off,
select that, so that you can go ahead and get a copy for your records.
