<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Dr. Monica Tenhunen, along with Tristan Nelson, are inviting you to take part in a research study. Dr. Tenhunen is an associate professor in the Nursing Department at Texas
A&M University-Commerce. Tristan Nelson is a student at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The purpose of this research is to explore rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation in students on our campus. All students over 18 years of age and born after
1964 are invited and encouraged to participate.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">You will be asked to complete a survey that asks about social media usage, changes in mood or habits, and personal harm. The survey is comprised of twenty questions, and
will take you about 10-15 minutes to complete.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Due to the nature of this research, there are several foreseeable risks to participation. These include feelings of psychological or emotional discomfort, anxiety, or distress.
The participant may leave the survey at any point. The TAMU-C Counseling Center is available for any participant needing psychological or emotional support. They may reach the counseling center in Halladay Student Services #204, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM,
or 24 hours a day at 903-886-5145. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this survey.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
