The Quality Enhancement Plan seeks to build global competence by <B><I>“<FONT COLOR="#003E80">Preparing Students for an Interconnected World</FONT>.”</I></B> <BR>
<BR>
A recommendation to build this competence: developing <U>historical perspectives</U> by “learning to appreciate past influences that have shaped people and environments.” <B>To do this</B>, you could “Travel to a community outside your own to learn about the history of the area and events that shaped the lives of its inhabitants. Take the opportunity to learn about the backgrounds of the various people, their religious and cultural practices, their languages, cuisine, etc. and how immigrants changed the culture of the local community and surrounding area” (GCAA). <BR>
