on their 2012-2013 FAFSA. The Dep't of Education discontinued all paper<BR>
Renewal reminders so don't look for one in the snail mail world<BR>

Welcome back everyone!<BR>

You are probably thinking, "The spring 2013 semester just started<BR>
yesterday and you are bringing up the 2013-2014 year!"<BR>
Yes.. It is true. It's that time again where our office starts<BR>
preparations for the future year.<BR>
A few updates for the 2013-2014 year to start. As updates are made<BR>
available, notices will be sent out to the A&M-Commerce community at<BR>
large and the financial aid & scholarships web site,<BR>
www.tamuc.edu/financialaid will be updated. Look for the New for<BR>
2013-2014 TAB on the home page.<BR>
<BR>

2014, summer I and summer II 2014.<BR>
a. It uses 2012 calendar year tax information.<BR>
i. File 2012 income tax return as early as possible and file them<BR>
electronically with the IRS, it speeds up the process at the IRS.<BR>
ii. The IRS Data Retrieval system that enables applicants to retrieve<BR>
directly from the IRS their income information will be available after<BR>
2/3/2013; per IRS updates.<BR>
2. Priority deadline:<BR>
a. March 31st for best financial aid consideration of federal financial<BR>
aid and some state grants.<BR>
b. Undergraduate student specific:<BR>
i. March 15th for TX GRANT and TX GRANT-Renewal<BR>
ii. March 15th for State of Texas Top 10% Scholarship and State of Texas<BR>
Top 10% Scholarship-Renewal <BR>
