The scholarship is worth $1000.

The only terms of acceptance for the scholarship are that you enroll in SED 300 (the special math/science section with Dr. Mark Reid). This is a course that you will take with other math and science majors who are interested in teaching. You will not be able to enroll in the course before contacting our office, so if you have any questions, please contact me!

Please note that you do not have to change your major to take advantage of this opportunity. In fact, you can complete this program and still go to graduate school. This would simply give you another career path as an option, which is never a bad idea :)

To apply for the scholarship, simply go to your MyLeo account and apply. The link should already be there. To qualify for the scholarship, you must be a full time math or science major.

In addition to the scholarship application, I would like to invite interested students to contact me at Thomas_Faulkenberry@tamu-commerce.edu to discuss our Math and Science Teacher Preparation Program. Completing the program will take at least 4 long semesters (fall/spring).

Please apply as soon as possible, and let me know if you have any questions.

Thomas J.
