<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Do
you have a teenager needing post secondary guidance this summer? The Commerce
Teen Career Camp will be held on the campus of Texas A&M
University-Commerce located inside the Sam Rayburn Student Center, in
Innovations room 223A, July 26th -30th, from 9am-12pm.
Students must be dropped off and signed in at 8:45am and picked up at 12pm by
their guardian . Students will be served lunch at the camp but are recommended
to eat breakfast before arriving to the camp.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>The
camp is designed to provide teenaged students, with educational information
that guides them from high school to college and then to the career path of
their choice The information provided at the camp will explain the
characteristics of a successful student, academic preparedness, college
preparedness, surviving in corporate America, how to research a career and
more. The camp is designed to get young students thinking about what they want
to be when they grow up, what colleges to go to, what career paths to go down
and more. The camp is geared towards teenaged students because the information
provided at the camp is specifically for them, such as the classes they need
to take, the extra curricular activities available for them and the
organizations they can get involved in. The main focus of the camp is to get
students thinking about what exactly they will be doing 5-10 years from now.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Upon
completion of the camp the students are now able to do their own research on
their desired career path. They can also do research on classes they need to
take in high school and classes they need to take in college that will help
prepare them for their desired career. The students will now be able to
articulate what career path they want to take, as well as tell you how they are
going to go about accomplishing that goal. They can tell you all the
qualifications, the salaries, the hourly work hours and much more about their
potential career after they have successfully made it through this camp.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>The
camp participants must be in attendance everyday and dressed for success in
business attire in order to receive the $50.00 stipend at the end of the camp
which is the incentive. Please read the application carefully and provide all
required information. Please email Leonard Jackson at <a

for an application to this great opportunity ; applications are due back July
23, 2010 before 5pm and must be submitted to the Student Government Association
Office located inside the Sam Rayburn Student Center on the second floor on the
campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce. The next scheduled Commerce Teen
Career Camp is scheduled for the summer of 2011. <o:p></o:p></p>
