Texas A&M University-Commerce is working proactively with the city of Commerce,
local health agencies and the governor’s office to monitor the H1N1 flu on
behalf of its students, faculty and staff.

As of Thursday, April 30, there are no known reports of H1N1 flu in Hunt County
or in our surrounding area. However, officials on campus are taking
precautions in the event reports begin to occur.

Symptoms of the H1N1 flu are similar to those of regular or seasonal flu and
include:
style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Runny nose, sore
throat, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea also have been reported.

While the H1N1 flu is contagious, it is not known at this time how easily the
virus spreads between people. Health officials believe it may spread in
similar ways to the seasonal flu. You are advised to follow
standard precautions to reduce the spread of any respiratory illness.
