February 5, 2009, the University Honors Office mailed letters to undergraduates
eligible to apply for the 2009 Mayo Scholarship, one of the most prestigious
awards at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Mayo Scholar will
receive $3000 toward his/her academic expenses in the 2009-2010 academic year,
and the four runners-up will each be given a $1,500 credit toward tuition and
fees. The names of the winner and runners-up will be announced at this
spring’s 2009 University Honors Day Luncheon on Friday, April 3, 2009.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>We
want to encourage qualified undergraduates to look for their letters from the
Honors Office and to follow up by completing the application, writing the
1500-word essay, and providing the supporting documents. All documents
are due to the University Honors Office, Prairie Crossing #416, no later than
3:00 p.m. on February 27, 2009. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
