</SPAN>Giovanni's poems first emerged during the Civil Rights and Black Arts 
Movements of 1960.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Her work spans a 
period of three decades of literally masterpieces.</FONT></P>
