Good afternoon Lions,
There have been reports of students receiving text messages from individuals impersonating University IT Department agents regarding requests for email accounts being shut down.
We would like to take this time to remind you all that CITE (Center for IT Excellence) representatives will not initiate contact with any faculty, staff, or student via Text message, WhatsApp, or any other social media platform.
If you happen to receive these messages, please do not respond to them or give out any personal information. You can report these messages as spam using your device's built in functions, or forwarding the texts to "7726".
Otherwise, you can simply reach out to us at 903.468.6000 or helpdesk at tamuc.edu with any concerns and we will be happy to assist you!
