Good evening Lions,

I am deeply saddened by the incident that took place last night. My heart goes out to all of those who lost their lives and all of those who were hurt as well. I also want to sincerely apologize to all of the families and friends who lost someone that they loved. The event that took place last night was terrifying. I witnessed it myself and I truly feel everyone’s pain.

I hope that this event brings us together as a student body. We should be here for one another and cherish our time with our families, friends, and loved ones. Please remember to be empathetic towards those who were involved, directly or indirectly.

If you are willing, please meet me at the Amphitheater tomorrow at 4pm. During this time we will honor those who lost their lives and acknowledge our peers who experienced this tragedy. The safety of our student body is our main priority and measures are being taken to ensure that security is highly enforced. If there are any changes regarding the gathering, updates will be provided.

Please take advantage of the counseling services that are available. We are aware of the lack of representation in mental health professionals for the communities that were primarily affected. Please know that these services have been requested.

If you need anything, have any issues or concerns, or just want to talk, do not hesitate to reach out or stop by my office. I am a student as well and I am processing this just as all of you are. I am here for all of you.

While we have never experienced something like this before, it is my deepest desire that we get through this as a family.

Best,

Your Student Body President
