A gentle reminder of the consequences of dropping credit hours or withdrawing totally in the semester.
Financial aid recipients must complete a certain number of credit hours based on the number of credit hours they are attempting during the semester.
How financial aid is affected will depend on the action that occurs.
Withdrawal of all credit hours
1. This is an automatic suspension of future financial aid.
2. The last day of academic activity/attendance on the withdrawal form will determine whether you will need to repay any current semester financial aid and the amount that you will need to repay.
Through the Return to Title IV process the calculation schools are required to do will make the determination of how much federal financial aid you can keep and how much will need to be returned to the federal government.
Dropping credit hours
Several factors will have on effect on financial aid for the future semester.
1. Number of credit hours being dropped based on number of credit hours you are attempting
2. Whether it is the first time you are not meeting financial aid standards of academic progress
3. Whether you started the semester on a Warning or whether you started the semester on an approved appeal for financial aid suspension
