School Age Summer Program – child care for school age children

Children’s Learning Center is expanding our School Age Summer Program this year.  Enroll NOW to hold a slot!

We are still looking for groups or individuals who would like to volunteer their skills, time, or make donations toward this program. We are specifically looking for the following:
*volunteers to expand the children’s knowledge with art, music, sports, STREAM activities, etc.
*volunteers involved with business to help children with bake sale
*volunteers to help with art projects and collecting socks, hair ties, lotion, and deodorant for Briar Cliff Nursing Home in Greenville
*partners to donate drawstring bags and water bottles

Club Now Has Beer & Wine for Purchase

Based on the feedback from the Club Refreshment & Cuisine surveys conducted with students, faculty, and staff in December, the Rayburn Student Center will now be offering beer and wine for sale on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 5:00pm – 11:00pm. We hope this will provide a fun, safe, and smoke-free environment for the campus to congregate and drink responsibly. Non-alcoholic beverages will still be available as well. New Interlibrary Loan Software System

This semester the Interlibrary Loan department is instituting a new software system. We will be switching from the current ILLiad system to a new, cloud-managed, web based platform called Tipasa.

Tipasa will be fully accessible from all your electronic devices, such as phones, tablets, and PCs. You will now have the option of being notified when your Interlibrary Loan materials are ready via text message, email, or both. We expect the changeover to be completed by Wednesday, March 1. For anyone who may have materials in their ILLiad account that you still need to access, ILLiad will be available for approximately 3 weeks in a dormant, read-only mode to give you time to retrieve the records or articles you need.

If you have a current, active account in ILLiad, we have already transferred your account information to Tipasa. To activate your new account and to set up your contact preferences you can go to https://2833.account.worldcat.org/profile and select the Set/Reset password option on the sign in page and enter your CWID on the next page. You will then receive an email with a link for activating your account.

The Mayo Review editorial staff invites you to attend our Issue Launch next Thursday, March 9th, 2017 from 6:30-8pm, in the Rm 203 Hall of Languages. Our guest speaker is Courtney Craggett. Craggett completed her doctorate in creative writing at the University of North Texas, where she served as the American Literary Review’s Assistant Fiction Editor. Her own fiction has won the Sherwood Anderson Editors' Choice Award, was featured on Ploughshares' blog, and has been twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her stories appear in Mid-American Review, The Pinch, Washington Square Review, Juked, Waxwing, Word Riot, and Monkeybicycle, among others. Her reviews appear in American Microreviews and Interviews. Courtney lives in Denton, TX, where she teaches creative writing at the University of North Texas and is finishing a story collection and a novel.
There will be copies of the current Mayo Review 2017 issues as well as past issues. Copies of the most recent issue are $10. Cash or check only. Hope to see you there on March 9th.
