[Students] Message from SGA President

[A&M-Commerce Students]

Dear Lions,

As we have watched over the past few days the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, we are here for you the students. The campus community is here to help all students that were affected by this hurricane.

For all Lions that have been directly affected by Hurricane Harvey, know this - we the students, faculty & staff, stand with you during this hard time. I urge all students that have been impacted to stop by and visit the Counseling Center staff at the Hurricane Harvey Impact session. There will be two sessions, Thursday, August 30th, 3:30pm - 4:30pm in RSC -Pride Room and Friday, September 1st, 11am-12pm in RSC-Pride Room. If you are not available to attend either session, the Counseling Center staff will be available and their offices are located in the Halladay Student Services Building, across from the James Gee Library.

With classes already underway as of Monday, if you are not here due to the hurricane or need to go back to help family, I strongly encourage you to communicate with your instructors and inform them of your situation. Again, we know that our university stands behind our students and will do everything that it can to support, accommodate and provide resources during this time of need.

Finally, we as the Student Government Association are wishing all the students, faculty, and staff the best during this devastating time and want you to know that we are here for you. As your student body president and Houstonian, I am personally committed to supporting all students that have been affected by this tragedy. The Lion family is no stranger to adverse situations, but as always, we will come out #LionStrong.
