[Students] Warning - Student Scams & Pyramid Schemes

"Dear students,

I hope your semester is going well. We have received a few complaints regarding scams and pyramid schemes that target Texas A&M University-Commerce students. If a "deal" ever sounds easy or too good to be true then it is probably not legitimate. At the very least take down some information and do some research before you make a final decision. One thing I have learned over time is that nothing in life is for free. Please use your better judgment and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact University Police (upd at tamuc.edu<mailto:upd at tamuc.edu>), the Office of Judicial Affairs (Robert.Dotson at tamuc.edu<mailto:Robert.Dotson at tamuc.edu>), your parents, or even a faculty member or staff person. Sharing your personal information with a stranger is not good practice and can result in financial loss and long-term damage to your credit. If you have any other questions or concerns I have open office hours on Wednesdays (3-4 pm) and Thursdays (10-11 am) for students only. I am also available by appointment or we can connect via e-mail.
