Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

The Texas A&M University System has launched a new, more user-friendly version of our EmpowerU website. We ask that you take a moment to visit it at: http://empoweru.tamus.edu/

EmpowerU is our System-wide initiative to create a culture of completion and affordability. We expect our institutions to maintain continued improvement on student outcomes, and to do so in a manner consistent with our commitment to transparency and accountability.

On the website, you will find information about your university’s specific objectives, stretch goals, and the success measures on which it will be evaluated. There were determined by the university’s leadership in consultation with faculty, staff and the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. You will also find data on affordability, access and academic success that will allow you to track your school’s performance and progress.

We update the data on the EmpowerU site as soon as it is processed internally. Our hope is that by providing you information in as close to “real time” as possible, you will gain an accurate understanding of the current state of your university, and our institutions will be able to identify strengths and challenges and make timely adjustments as needed.

The new EmpowerU website also incorporates our LearningU initiative, which focuses on K-12 teacher preparation and support. The Texas A&M System produces more teachers than any other public university system in the state. We are responsible for providing K-12 students with teachers who will enable them to succeed in higher education. We take this responsibility seriously, and we view it as a vital part of our overall mission.

The Texas A&M System has long been synonymous with academic and personal excellence. In order to uphold this tradition, we want to be sure that the Texas A&M System has done everything in its control for Texas students to be successful in their academic and professional pursuits. That includes empowering members of our campus community with data and information they can use to help us hold ourselves accountable for providing a high quality, high value education that students complete.

So, we invite you, once again, to please check out our new EmpowerU site, and to share the link with your friends, family, and fellow Texans who also believe in an open, data-driven approach to achieving excellence throughout the state.
