To Our Lion Family;
During this time of loss, grieving may feel unbearable. Processing our grief is helpful and necessary. The entire Counseling Center staff stands ready to be of assistance.
Grief affects each of us differently and depends on many things including the nature of the loss, your upbringing, your beliefs or religion, your relationships, and even your physical and mental health.
You can react in many different ways to loss. Likely, you will experience several key emotions. Anxiety and helplessness usually come first. Feeling angry is normal and then sadness will often come later. Knowing these emotions are common will help to normalize them. We each grieve at our own pace and some will take longer to recover than others. Most will eventually adjust to the loss.
The staff of the Counseling Center is here to help you individually or as a group. Please contact us at 903.886.5145 or walk in to Halladay Room 204 during normal business hours.
