Greetings!

We have been made aware of a new email attack that contains malicious code as an attachment. This attack is known as DYRE or also known as Dyreza. CITE staff works to insure protection from this threat, however you need to be aware.

Over the past several days emails containing this threat have increased. The subject lines in these emails include the below, but may be changing all the time. The email entices the user to click a link by telling them they have a voice message to retrieve, or to click on the morning commentary link, etc. The Dyre threat attempts to gain user ID's and passwords to allow further spread of malicious code.

- "Wire transfer receive"

- "Medicines here"

- "Complaint against your company"

- "Payment Advice - advice Ref:[xxxxxx]/CHAPS credits"

- "Company repor" - (note the missing t in "report")

- "Wire transfer complete"

- "Important - New Outlook Settings"

- "RBS morning commentary"

- "Voice Message"

Preventing the spread will ultimately rely on good user practices. We remind you that you should not provide your Password to anyone or in any email.

If you think you have been exposed or have provided your ID & Password please contact the help desk<mailto:helpdesk at tamuc.edu> or call 903-468-6000 to have your password reset.

We appreciate your diligence in keeping our environment safe.
