CONVOCATION REMINDER - Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. In order for students, faculty, and staff to attend the Convocation, all classes on the main campus in Commerce, Texas, will be canceled and campus offices will be closed from 11 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, September 30.

Faculty, Staff and Students,

The Fall 2014 Academic Convocation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the University Auditorium, Ferguson Social Sciences Building, to honor Dr. Jon Travis, Regents Professor and Professor of Educational Leadership. Dr. Travis became the University's most recent recipient of the highest academic distinction bestowed upon faculty by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents when named "Regents Professor" for academic year 2012-2013.

In order for students, faculty, and staff to attend the Convocation, all classes on the main campus in Commerce, Texas, will be canceled and campus offices will be closed from 11 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, September 30.

Faculty will participate in full academic regalia and gather for the processional at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the first floor hallway of the Ferguson Social Sciences Building.  Those unable to attend are to consult the respective dean in advance. Please mark on your calendars this special event to honor both Dr. Travis' career and the history of our university by joining in this celebration.
