[Students] 2014-2015 Financial Aid: It is time to apply

Welcome back. Now that the spring semester has started, it is time to
look to the 2014-2015 academic year. 

 

Interested in applying for financial aid (federal and state grants,
work-study and long term student loans) for the 2014-2015 academic year?

 

Are you a U.S. citizen,  Permanent Residents of the U.S. or  Eligible
Non-resident ?

Complete the 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA at
http://fafsa.gov

 

Are you not able to complete the FAFSA but are classified as a Texas
resident under House Bill 1403/Senate Bill 1528 can apply for state
financial aid by completing the 2014-2015 Texas Application for State
Financial Aid TASFA at http://www.aie.org/State/TASFA/

 

Priority Deadlines:

For TX GRANT priority, Top 10% State Scholarship the state deadline is
March 15th. This means the 2014-2015 FASFA or the 2014-2015 TASFA must
be received in our office by March 15th.  These programs have limited
funding.

 

For federal financial aid (except Federal Pell Grant) 

            Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

            Federal College Work-Study

and other state/institutional aid, 

            Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG)

            Tuition Set Aside (ASIDE)

            Texas Work-Study 

Priority deadline is March 31st. This means the 2014-2015 FAFSA of the
2014-2015 TASFA must be received in our office by March 31st for the
best possible opportunity to receive grants and work-study. Most of
these programs have limited funding. Once funds are committed no new
funds will be available. 

 

Financial aid will also include long term Federal Direct Subsidized and
Unsubsidized Student Loans.
