Each year the University provides information to the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) for students who were assessed qualified tuition and
student fees during the previous tax year. Students will be mailed a
1098-t form by the end of January 2014 which provides notice of the
information being reported to the IRS for 2013. Students who do not
have a valid social security number or Tax ID number on file with the
University Registrar will not have a 1098-t form automatically
generated. This may affect the ability of a student or parent to claim
a tax deduction or credit associated with education expenses.

If you have a valid social security number or Tax ID but have not
provided that information to the University Registrar - please contact
that office at 903-886-5068 for assistance with the update process or go
to
http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/documents/PersonalIdentificati
on.pdf for the Request for Personal Identification Changes form.
Completed forms should be returned to the University Registrar's Office.

You may mail completed forms to the University Registrar at:

Texas A&M University-Commerce

Attn: Registrar's Office

P.O. Box 3011

Commerce, TX 75429

Completed forms can also be faxed to the Registrar's Office at
903-886-5888.

Please contact our office at Student.Accounts at tamuc.edu if you have any
questions about this process.
