Friday, January 11th
Hypnotist- Dale K
Time: 8pm
Rayburn Student Center- The Club
Using his creative abilities and abstract sense of humor, Dale K
produces hypnosis events that are professional, unconventional and
always hilarious. Just one of the many reasons why Dale K is a popular
must see favorite with universal appeal and a yearly tour schedule of
almost 200 cities worldwide.
Sunday, January 13th
Shopping Trip to Wal-Mart
Time: 8pm-10pm
Commerce Wal-Mart
Need to get last-minute essentials before classes start? Come to the
Commerce Wal-Mart to get your back to school needs. Show your Lion Card
and receive fun giveaways just for being a Lion! University vans will go
from Whitley Hall, F Halls, and Prairie Crossing to Wal-Mart every 20
minutes starting at 7:40pm.
Monday, January 14th
First Day of Class
BMX Bikers Show
Time: 11:30am, 12:30pm & 1:30pm
Grassy Area by Science Building
It's the first day of school and what a great way to start it by
watching BMX Bikers do stunts and tricks on our own campus! This event
is Spirit Approved!
Tuesday, January 15th
Club Movie Night: Here Comes the Boom
Time: 7:00pm
Rayburn Student Center- The Club
A high school biology teacher looks to become a successful mixed-martial
arts fighter in an effort to raise money to prevent extra-curricular
activities from being axed at his cash-strapped school. Come enjoy some
free popcorn and .50 cents drinks.
Pajama Jam hosted by the Multi Greek Council
Time: 10:00pm
Rayburn Student Center- The Club
Time to get cozy in your jammies! Come out and join the Multicultural
Greek Council (MGC) after the Club movie! There will be music, food, and
fun for all to enjoy! We will be turning The Club space into an awesome
pajama event - tasteful and appropriate pajama attire only! This event
is Spirit Approved!
Wednesday, January 16th
Xtreme Bingo Trivia
Time: 12:00pm-1:00pm
Rayburn Student Center- Club
Test your knowledge of the decades and have the chance to win some
prizes! This Xtreme form of bingo will combine images, sounds, and
trivia questions from the 60's to today. Think you have what it takes to
win?
Two Steppin' Into 2013
Time: 6:30pm
Rayburn Student Center Conference Rooms
Join the InterFraternity Council (IFC) as they bring in the New Year
with country musicians from across our student population. Come out from
6:30 - 7:00 p.m. for instructional lessons on the two-step, half-step,
and triple as well as line dances! After the instruction session the
dance floor will be free for all to step into the New Year with some
excellent country music! Come on out for some free live music, dancing,
and lots of fun!
Thursday, January 17th:
Bottle Cap Key Chains hosted by Campus Activities Board
Time: 11:00am-3:00pm
Rayburn Student Center- Atrium
Create your own bottle cap key chain! Use Greek letters, animal
mascots, favorite icons, and more to create the ultimate statement of
individuality that is yours to keep.
Jump N2 Spring
Time: 7pm-9pm
Morris Recreation Center Gym
Come out and help us kick off the semester RIGHT! We will have exciting
entertainment, fantasy photos, Live DJ, free food and shirts! Come visit
and mingle with the awesome organizations and departments that our
campus has to offer! This event is hosted by Campus Recreation and Alpha
Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Friday, January 18th
Guinness World Record Climb Event
Time: 7pm-9pm
Morris Recreation Center Gym
The Climbing Society has gained the approval of Guinness World Records
to attempt to break the record for the Greatest Vertical Distance
Climbed on an Artificial Climbing Wall in 6 Hours (Team). This will be
done by a 12 man team attempting to break the current record relay style
of 5,308.8 m (17,417 ft 3.46 in). Come celebrate with the Climbing
Society as they reach this incredible milestone! This event is Spirit
Approved!
Dallas Mavericks Watch Party
Time: 8:30pm
Rayburn Student Center-The Club
Come to Club and watch the Dirk Nowitzki and the rest of Mavericks take
on Kevin Durant and the rest of the Thunder!
