Golden Leos

Do you have students seeking that next leadership opportunity at Texas
A&M University-Commerce?  Please consider directing those leaders to the
service organization on campus, Golden Leos.  Golden Leos are a "golden
treasure" which began on campus in the Fall of 1978 by then President,
F. H. McDowell.

Golden Leos serve at the discretion of the President's Office.  Leos are
involved in campus-wide events such as:  Commencement Exercises,
Homecoming, Veterans Vigil, Faculty convocations, Alumni events and
Advancement galas.  Members have the pleasure of working with
dignitaries, military personnel, and university and community leaders.

Golden Leos membership criteria includes: an overall grade point average
of 2.75, 12 completed hours at Texas A&M University-Commerce,
demonstrated leadership potential, in "good standing" with the
university, completion of a Golden Leos Application, two recommendation
forms from a faculty and/or staff member and completion of an interview
process with the organizational executive board.

Recruitment Week for Golden Leos is February 18th - 21st.  Listed below
are activities slated for the week.  For your convenience, we have
attached our Application and Recommendation Forms that you can provide
to your student leaders.  Please feel free to contact me, should you
need additional information.  Thank you in advance for your support in
recruiting our next class of Golden Leos.

 

GOLDEN LEO RECRUITMENT WEEK

Golden Leo Applications available January 30th at the RSC Student
Activities and Leadership Desk, 2nd Floor

Recruitment Week Activities | February 18th - 21st 

Deadline for Application submission is Friday, February 22nd, by 5:00 PM

Recommendation Forms must be sealed and submitted to Golden Leo advisor,
Connie Mears, RSC # 241

Interviews held on Tuesday, March 5th, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, in the
Visions Room, 2nd floor, RSC
