FALL 2013

                                    DROP / WITHDRAWAL DEADLINES

Please do not respond to this campus-wide message.

As we gear up for the Fall semester, there are a few things about
adding, dropping, and withdrawing that students need to keep in mind to
ensure a successful semester!

Adding a class can only be done without approval through the 29th of
August. After that, dean and instructor approval will be required.

In order to get rid of Fall classes, students will need to either drop
or withdraw.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "DROP" AND A "WITHDRAWAL"?

A "DROP" is dropping a single class, but remaining enrolled in at least
one other class. Drop deadlines are set much earlier than withdrawal
deadlines, so be sure and review these prior to the first day of the
semester. The drop form is located at:
http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/documents/2012DropForm.pdf
<http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/documents/2012DropForm.pdf> .

The DROP deadlines for Fall are:

Drop with 100% refund: September 11, 2013

Drop, no refund: October 31, 2013

A "WITHDRAWAL" is when you are only enrolled in a single class (or many
classes), needing to get out of the semester entirely, and will no
longer be enrolled. If the semester has already begun, students trying
to drop all of their classes must obtain a Withdrawal Form and fax (or
deliver) to the Registrar's Office for processing. A withdrawal only
means you are withdrawing from the term (not the University). The
Withdrawal Form is located at:
http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/documents/WithdrawalForm.pdf
<http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/documents/WithdrawalForm.pdf>
.

WITHDRAWAL Deadlines for Fall are:

100% refund: August 25, 2013

80%: August 30, 2013

70%: September 9, 2013

50%: September 16, 2013

25%: September 23,2 013

NO REFUND: November 19, 2013

The Drop and Withdrawal deadlines are posted under the Academic Calendar
at: https://ems.tamuc.edu/MasterCalendar/MasterCalendar.aspx
<https://ems.tamuc.edu/MasterCalendar/MasterCalendar.aspx> .

If you are registered in a Fall sub-term that does not run the dates of
the Fall semester, your drop/withdrawal dates will differ. You can
either access the Academic Calendar for dates, or contact the
Registrar's Office.

Also, for any other questions regarding the drop/withdrawal process,
