Mid-term tests are over for the most part and all of you are doing a great job this semester! But just in case, we wanted to provide a gentle reminder that grades, courses completed vs. courses attempted during a semester can affect your financial aid for the next semester.
All students who are recipients of financial aid need to maintain Financial Aid Standards of Progress each semester they are attending A&M-Commerce.
In general terms, GPA requirements:
Undergraduate students:
Freshmen need to have a minimum of a 1.88 GPA for the term and for the institutional cumulative GPA
All other undergraduate students need to have a minimum of a 2.00 GPA for the term and for the institutional cumulative GPA
Graduate student:
All graduate students need to have a minimum of a 3.00 GPA for the term and for the institutional cumulative GPA
Hours Requirements:
All students must complete a minimum number of hours based on the number of hours being attempted for the semester. Hours requirement information is available at
http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/admissions/tuitionCosts/financialAidandScholarships/financialAid/awardingAid/satisfactoryAcademicProgress.aspx
Students who do not meet Financial Aid Standards of Progress for the first time this fall semester will receive a Financial Aid Warning notice at the end of the fall and will have financial aid for the spring on a Warning status.
Students who started this fall semester on a Warning status and do not meet Financial Aid Standards of Progress at the end of the fall will receive a Financial Aid Suspension notice. The suspension notice will provide information on the appeal process, if the student wants to appeal the suspension notice.
All notices are sent to the myLEO email account - so pay close attention to your myLEO account. Because of the timing of the end of the fall and when the deadline for grades to be turned in to the Registrar's Office by the time all this happens our Financial Aid Standards of Progress email notices are sent before we close for the holiday break.
Specific financial aid programs and scholarships have different requirements and you can see what the requirements are for each program you have received funds from through your specific myLEO. Select Financial Aid section.
