[Students] Adopt-a-Unit with the SVA!

[Jill Mobley]

During this time of year, we are all looking forward to spending time
with our families and

unwrapping presents, hoping we got that special someone the perfect gift
this year. This can be a difficult time for deployed service members who
will be away from their families for the holidays. The Student Veteran
Association would like to do an Adopt-a-Unit drive this season to let
everyone overseas know how much we appreciate them!

Our contact for the deployed unit is CM2 Jon Barnette, a 22 year old
diesel mechanic living in Commerce. He and his sixty member Ft. Worth
unit have been in Afghanistan since September and are expected home
sometime between late March and the middle of April 2013.

Jon has let us know some of the things his unit would like. If you would
like to donate, please see Jill Mobley in the One Stop Shop or email her
at sva at tamuc.edu. Donations need to be received by DECEMBER 14th in
order to make it to the unit in time. You can drop donations by the One
Stop Shop.
