6:30pm

Texas A&M University-Commerce Metroplex Center

Leadership Room

Who is the Hispanic Learner? What factors need to be addressed in
fostering achievement for the Hispanic Learner? What do we need to know
about the family, home, language, and culture of the Hispanic child?
What do we need to know about the development and learning styles of the
Hispanic learner? How can the school become culturally responsive to
the needs of the Hispanic student? What schools have been successful in
embracing the culture of the Hispanic population? What strategies have
these schools implemented that can be replicated by other schools?

School personnel will leave this Institute with a concrete idea of
modifications needed to create a culturally responsive learning
environment which reflects the Hispanic Culture.
