[Students] Scholarship Opportunity: 5th Year Accounting Scholarship Notice DEADLINE APRIL 5

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy 5th Year Accounting Student
Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students intending
to take the CPA examination conducted for the purpose of granting a
certificate of certified public account.

Criteria for Eligibility

Texas Resident

Enrolled in at least half-time status

Need to submit an Application of Intent to take the CPA examination with
the Board

Will have completed a bachelor's degree or at least 120 hours of college
coursework at the start of the term in which the award is baing made

Have not more than 30 semester hours remaining in courses of study to
meet the following criteria

150 semester hours of college credit

30 semester hours of upper level accounting courses

24 semester hours of upper level business courses and

  3 semester hours of a Board=approved ethics course

Must be making satisfactory academic progress

Have not already taken the CPA examination

If male applicant, must be registered with Selective Service 

Demonstrate financial need as evidence by completion of the 2011-2012
FAFSA

The completed application needs to be sent directly to Ms. Alicia
Spruell at Alicia_Spruell at TAMU-Commerce.edu

The deadline to submit the application directly to Ms. Alicia Spruell is
midnight on Thursday, April 5.
