[Students] Hobbit March 1 reading

[Kim Jefferies]

THE YEAR OF THE HOBBIT!

On September 21, 1937, a modest book about a strange creature
called a hobbit written by a medieval philologist at Oxford was
published: The Hobbit by Jr. R. Tolkien. September 21, 2012, will mark
the 75th anniversary of the adventures of Mr. Bilbo Baggins.
Additionally, the first of two live-action films based on the famous
novel and directed by Peter Jackson will be released in December 2012.
The Department of Literature and Languages and Gee Library
invite you all to join in the YEAR OF THE HOBBIT, a year of celebrating
the worlds and works of J. R. R. Tolkien. The first event will be a
public reading of The Hobbit. We will meet near the East Window on the
first floor of Gee Library on Thursday, March 1, 2012. We will start
reading aloud at 12:30, taking breaks during the regularly scheduled
periods between classes, and keep reading until we're done!
If you wish to read, you may pre-sign up for a chunk of time
(minimum of five minutes, maximum of 15); we're sorry, we cannot
guarantee an actual chapter or event. You can also drop by and no doubt
we can fit you in. Or, just come and sit and enjoy the reading!
