THE 9/11 REMEMBERANCE WALL
Located in the Atrium area of the Rayburn Student Center this week.
Come by to read other's stories and leave your own.
JUST A REMINDER
Join us from 7 - 9 PM on Sunday, September 11 in the new Music
Building's Finney Concert Hall at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Doors
open at 6:30 PM. This event is open to the community.
As we embark on the 10-year milestone of overcoming tragedy and creating
a better future, we would like to take the time to reflect, reunite, and
rejoice with the campus, community, friends, and military family.
FEATURE PREMIERE - "Rebirth" Director Jim Whitaker
Survivors from Ground Zero tell their stories of 9/11 in the restrained
but powerful documentary "Rebirth."
Meanwhile, the slow but thrilling redevelopment of Ground Zero is
captured by Whitaker's time-lapse cameras, which were placed at the site
starting six months after Sept 11.
Dr. Nathan Harness - FACULTY FAMILY & 9/11 SURVIVOR
Harness experienced firsthand both the horror and heroism that occurred
that day as he made his way down 61 flights of stairs to, at best,
relative safety. Throughout the ordeal, he never fully knew what was
happening. Hear his story of survival, courage and the determination to
rebuild.
University Chorale -
The University Chorale is the premiere choral ensemble selected by
audition from both graduate and undergraduate students in the music
department and the campus at large.
The members of the Commerce community, student body, faculty and staff
are invited to sing 'An American Hymn' with the Chorale during the
program. A rehearsal will be held in the Music Building Concert Hall
from 5:15-6:15 PM. Music will be provided at the rehearsal.
Honoring the Brave -
For our firefighters, police officers and military, retired, reserve or
active, we encourage you to come dressed in uniform.
There is reserved seating for you and your guests. It will be our
honor to recognize you for your courageous efforts and commitment.
To request ADA accommodations, please communicate your needs 3 days
before the activity or program you plan to attend by calling Robert
Dotson at 903-886-5171.
