Students,

For those of you who are planning to pursue graduate studies, there is a wonderful opportunity coming near. The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (http://www.nsfgrfp.org) is a prestigious national grant program for students beginning graduate studies in many fields (see website for list). The benefits of receiving one of these fellowships are numerous, but the highlights include:

1. Three years of support!
2. $30,000 annual stipend!

To assist interested students in the application process, the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (CURCA) is hosting a workshop on Friday, October 21, at 9:00 am. The workshop will consist of tips and helpful advice from faculty who have had a role in the program in the past, including our own Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Allan Headley. We will provide light refreshments for those in attendance, and the workshop should last approximately an hour.

If you are interested in attending the workshop, please RSVP with me (Dr. Faulkenberry) at Thomas_Faulkenberry at tamu-commerce.edu by Wednesday, October 19.

Please direct questions about the program to me as well. The CURCA is here to assist you. The applications are due to NSF in the middle of November.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Faulkenberry, Ph.D.
