***ATTENTION***
The University Police Department, Honors College, and Residential Living
and Learning have been made aware of several instances of resident name
tags being intentionally burned at Prairie Crossing.
Under Texas Penal Code 28.02, starting a fire to damage or destroy
property belonging to another and being reckless as to whether the
burning will endanger the life of another individual or the safety of
the property of another is considered ARSON.
ARSON is a FELONY OF THE SECOND DEGREE and carries a PENALTY OF 2 YEARS
TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON AND UP TO A $10,000 FINE.
The University Police Department will prosecute those responsible for
ARSON and those aiding in the commission of ARSON to the fullest extent
of the law.
If any resident of Prairie Crossing has any information they deem
helpful to this offense, the University Police Department should be
contacted at (903) 886-5868.
