Internship Opportunities-City of Sulphur Springs

We are proud to announce several internship opportunities with the City
of Sulphur Springs. These are unpaid internships, but they provide
excellent opportunities to gain real-world experiences and opportunities
to build relationships that will lead to career opportunities.

The person to contact for all of these opportunities is Shane Shepard,
Community Development Director. His email address is
sshepard at sulphurspringstx.org. His telephone number is 903.885.7541.

* City Engineers are looking for interns to assist with
comprehensive city development projects, including code and health
inspections.

* Assistance is needed with the Farmers Market. We have a need
for assistance to develop the Farmers Market. This may be an
agriculture student or a business / marketing student. They would work
directly with me and would have a small budget.

* We have several projects that could require a good deal of
graphic

design assistance, specifically renderings. Ideally, this student

would have this skill and would have a desire to learn about the

historic fabrics of downtowns and the buildings there.

* We are attempting to develop and implement some strategic
marketing

for tourism and business recruitment. A marketing student could find

this interesting.

* If a History student is interested, we are planning to develop
a

historical walking tour booklet for downtown to be distributed to the

public. This would require research, interviews, and writing.

* Arts and Entertainment. We could use some assistance to
develop a

strong sense of the arts in the community. Specifically, we are

wanting to develop a constant stream of music each weekend and develop

a nightlife. There is a small budget that would come with this and

they would interface with one of the non-profits downtown.
